Many things are done at Cypress Point to ensure our deer herd receives everything it needs. The most important part in our management program is to allow our bucks to reach maturity, while culling certain bucks from the herd. We also work to keep our doe numbers down, which results in a HIGH BUCK TO DOE RATIO. Tensas Parish is situation in the middle of the Mississippi Alluvial Valley and boasts some of the most fertile soil in the country which provides our deer herd with the necessary nutrition for them to reach their maximum antler development. We work hard year round to provide our deer with food plots throughout the property as well! The food plots choices vary among soybeans, wheat, cow peas, clover, rye grass, oats, and rape. Using these management practices, Cypress Point creates an all year smorgasbord to keep our deer healthy and happy.
